I have found others that have been scammed, these guys are either not shipping product or shipping crap.
They also do not seem that smart if they are truly scamming why bother sending out cra supplies and incurr shipping costs? Why not just take the money and run they they did with me?
It seems like their site may be down now (at least the main page) they are probably moving on to somewhere else but I hope to track them down and make sure they can’t continue
I have filed reports (and encourage others to do the same) with:
- The RCMP – Reporting Economic Crime Online project
- Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
- Google – I found them through Google Ad Words
- GoDaddy – their webhost
- The Better Business Bureau
- AMSouth Bank – their bank
I have heard back from Google a bit, they say they have no guarantee of the validity of their advertisers (will make me think twice about using that service)
I would love to hear from anyone else that got scammed and how they are coming along with fighting this.

i purchased 10 minisd 4gb cards and they sent 10 sd 4gb cards. only one of these units worked…. the rest are not finished product…. i cannot even get it format since there seems to be something else missing or wrong with these items. i spent $302.00. i reported this to the http://www.ic3.gov and BBB. The lesson here is when it looks too good to be true then most likely it is not real. I want to be a part of taking legal actions against these guys.
I am up for any legal action on these guys – I will not pay out of pocket for any since I think the chance of getting money back is not worth it – but if a lawyer would take it on for a percentage of ‘award’ I would be in for that.

I ordered 2 MP4 players a week before Christmas. Since I had not heard of Computer City, I first checked the BBB website to see if they had a history. Results: ***No reports had been filed in past 36 months. So, I went ahead and placed my order.
1-I did not get the products I ordered,
2-the products I did receive were junk -neither of them worked.
I called the ‘live'(ha) Customer service line for days- Mailbox was full every day.I called the local number – received same message. I had a different number from an email I had received instructing how to make payment – same message. I sent emails, complaints – no responses ever.
I knew I was scammed on day 1, but I kept calling anyway.
I have not reported them yet…..but I will now.
Same with me. We ordered two mp4 players. One luckily did work well, the other is crap. We returned it to them for replacement and never heard back from them. Mailbox always full as well.

Whew I knew something was fishy with them. But I got lucky and am so proud i messed them up. I wanted some MP3 players (about 20) for friends xmas gifts costing 720$…ordered them on their site . First thing that ticked me off was the COD crap (I don’t do COD) if its not card (where the company will find u if u screw up/or paypal then i always pass) ..so long story short sent them an email to stop the order within 5 mins; got a reply it had already shipped. I said ok and simply went home told everyone once this package arrives don’t sign for it. they shipped it out on UPS i waited a week then finally rejected the package (felt so good cos at least they paid shipping costs) They are simply put crooks . Sorry for all y’all who got scammed but yeah legal action is best (also inform the FBI too)
yea same here. my sister bought 2 MP3 players for christmas. they are both 1G Mp3 players. at first when i chek the file size it was 937MB, typical because its never really 1G. but now that i reformat the MP3 player i only have 119MB. the reason why i reformat it in the first place was because it can only hold up to 22 songs. if i try to upload anymore then that, files after the 22th song will have a file error. the reason why i know that it wasn’t my computer or file is because i tryed to upload the same song as the 23th song several times. then i deledted a couple of song and added the same song as i tryed to put it on the 23th position. it worked fine but still after the 22th song, the file will corrupt.

I read what you guys wrote and my story is very similar. I purchased 3 mp4 players and they were all crap!! Should have listened to that voice in the back of my mind. If it’s to good to be true,watch out. I would love to nail these guys. If anyone has the box they were shipped in with any information ie address, even city & state it may be helpful; please put it out there for everyone to view. People that do things like this need to be caught and punished. Maybe even castrated!!! I’ll do the surgery! If we all get together on this and track them down, we will surely get some kind of satisfaction.
The MP4 player I got for my son as Xmas gift was a scam, it never worked. It’s a 4G player that only plays 36 songs and then shuts off. I went through days of calling, emailing with no answers. I open an official complaint with the FL BBB and they too found it difficult to work the case. These guys had a FL address and but BBB could not find them, so they close my case.
I just want to stop these guys from scaming honest hard working people.

I purchased 2 MP3 players from deals-directinc.com and the players are not as advertised and all attempts to contact them have failed. They post their return policy on their website, but do not list an address.
Since UPS is collecting money on their behalf, I called them to see if this scam is of interest to them. They told me to call the Better Business Bureau. It’s very disappointing that UPS has no interest in preventing this kind of fraud and will continue to collect money for them.
I’ve thrown the players in the trash. Don’t need the lingering negative energy. A $142 lesson learned.

I recently purchased an MP3/MP4 Player. Thought that maybe these were possibly refurbished or not up to quality standards for Apple. The ad had the word iPOD twice and also said something about the Patented Click Wheel Design which is Patented by Apple. The Model number was the number for an iPOD. Typed the model number into Google and everything that came up was for an iPOD! The picture is of an iPOD, and there were quite a few other things that were copied straight from an iPOD ad. When I got the mp3 player it looked like an iPOD, even the Box looked like an iPOD box. Problem, it doesn’t work worth a sh*t!!!!! These things are why I thought what I thought. I did copy the Circuit City ad and the Deals-Direct Ad and sent them to Apple explaining what had happened.
I’ve sent 6 e-mails with 2 responses wanting more info about my purcahse. I left a message last week at the 1-800 number that was sent on the e-mails. This week the mailbox for this number and the Office number listed were both full. The message does say something about Computer City and not Deals-Direct Inc. Glad to here everything went well for you. I’m still stuck with this same POS. Deals-Direct Inc. will not return my e-mails or phone calls. I guess I’m going to have to contact quite a few of the organizations listed above. All I have asked them for in my e-mails is for a mp3 player that works.
I find it amazing that only one out of so many has had a “good” experience with their MP4 60GB player. It appears that s13k26 is either someone who works for these people or is not telling the truth. If theirs does work maybe they could advise the rest of us how they were able to sync it with a PC/MAC. Something just does not smell right here.
Last night I finally got ahold of their Online Chat. I’ve been sending e-mails, Telephone calls (left one message) (mailbox full every other time I’ve called), tried the Online Chat and they never answer when they are online, and most of the time they are not Online. I talked to someone named Allison, she said they couldn’t help me because they only do RMA’s for the first 14 days! I purchased this on July 16th and I’ve had 2 e-mails from someone named Karina. One asked me for my Order ID Number and the other asked what was wrong with it! I sent answers to both! Every e-mail I sent contained the information with what was wrong with it, guess they never read my e-mails. Anyway, Allison said they are always Online for their Online Chat and when I responded BS, yes BS not bull Sh*t, she hung up on me. I told her that I’m going to start legal proceedings. 14 days is hard to do when they won’t answer your e-mails, phone calls or Online Chats. I think she only answered last night because I was past the 14 day period. The AD does say it has a 1 year warranty but I have no warranty information!

Got ahold of another person by e-mail. I used another e-mail address. I think they have my other e-mail address blocked. He gave me the same BS as Allison did. 14 days is over, we can fix or replace for you for a fee or $35. All I asked for was the Manufacturer information so that I could contact them for the 12 month parts & labor. I was refused the information I requested and told the same 14 day BS again.
I am now talking to an administrator at resellerratings.com about Deals-Direct Inc. He is working to take legal action against them. Maybe some of you should go there and tell him your story. He did give me a few addresses of their possible whereabouts. Looks like they may be stationed in Flordia. I’m going to contact the Flordia Attourney General about them. well i guss i got lucky sort of? i ordered the 60 gb unit it works but there is always a but its not a hd unit i opened it up and it is flash based 4 gb but hacked i guess to show 64 gb which is also strange because the formated space is always less not more anyway i have loaded 2gb so far and no problems i think they use some form of compression scheme it will sync to wm11 with no problem sure i got ripped but at least it works if it sounds to good to be beware
I too have a similar story and want to take action. I purchased a cell phone and was shipped the wrong item. I was told to send it back to Deals Direct- INC 4801 E. Independence Suite 1000 Charlotte NC 28212. i sent the package via USPS express mail and it was received and signed ny them the next day. I sent the tracking number to “Karina” with no response. I finally get a response 4 days later with her asking me for the tracking number and telling me that their voice mail is not full(to my email that their voice mail is always full). i forwarded her the email from USPS with tracking number and the name of person who signed for it as well as date and time it was received to their company. i have left several messages since someone must have finally dumped all messages and have not heard from “karina” since 9/17/07. I have called government agencies and telephone information in Herndon and Richmond Virginia as well as Charlotte North Carolina nad this company is no where to be found. I was thinking about driving to the address I returned the package to because I am so frustrated. However being a mother of three and working 5 days a week 12 hour shifts, this is a little hard to do on the weekdays. I have the address where the package was sent to me in my car and will post it a little later. I also did not receive any warranty information which I thought was strange. I had second thoughts about sending the package back, but I could not use the phone that they sent to me, that is why i paid to have the package signed for. They ripped our company off of almost 10K in products that are basically (“HACKED” 1GB and 4GB)versions that they Advertise as 60GB MP3 Players. This week I have been in the process of figuring out which way to go on taking ComputerCity-Deals Direct Inc. to court after two months of nothing of problems with the items they sold me. I purchased from them an estimate of $16,000 in about 6-8 weeks period beginning around August. The last 2 orders were the ones who bothered me the worst since I cannot get a hold of them after someone by the name of Karina (in Live Chat) told me to go ahead and send back 15 phones which were defective or used for an exchange. I’ve tried numerous time to get ahold of them to find out why they had not shipped my exchanged 15 phones back after they received the 15 defective ones I sent. Then someone by the name of Lisa Yan (live chat) finally answered my request on live chat and told me that I will be receiving them in about 4 days and she gave me a UPS Tracking number (because I asked for it) and for the past 10 days I’ve being tracking it online to find out there is no activity on that tracking number. Meaning that they probably just purchased a label for shipping from UPS and never shipped my items because when I track the Shipment online it shows that only a billing made to sender. I seriousley want to take them to court and ask for an estimate of $1,600 for the phones I have not received plus another $1,000 for phones I still have that are yet to be returned to them in court. I also have a few chats when I last chatted with online with Lisa Yan(live chat) and got to copy and print for my records and for legal purpose to use against them. WE HAVE TO TAKE ACTION AGAINS THEM. WE NEED TO GET OUR MONEY BACK AND POSSIBLY PUT SOMEONE (IN COMPUTERCITY-DEALS-DIRECT) IN JAIL.

Well i googled “deals direct inc.” This is my thanks to everyone for confirming my suspicions before i purchased 9 60GB pieces of crap. One thing that caught my attention was that they didn’t outright say it was an ipod. does anyone know how we can crash their website? Ok, after fighting with these people for about 2 months, I finally got a refund….but had to go thru Google checkout. Dealsdirect.com refused to respond to my numerous emails and phone calls & once I got the RMA# from Google (who somehow managed to get it from the scammers), they did respond & told me that (after I returned the mp3 players!) I had exceeded the 14 day return policy! So, back to Google checkout I went and just got my refund. So, maybe there is hope if you were lucky enough to have paid through Google Checkout…they had great customer service & were somehow able to contact these jerks. Good luck, & I hope yall learned as much from this as I did….I’ll never order from another site that I’m not familiar with before checking the BBB site 1st!

Even if you guys get as lucky as I did and get your money back, it is still imporatnt to report these jerks to the BBB and the NC Trade Commission & Attorney General, so that eventaully maybe they will be stopped or at least maybe more people will be informed.

I too have been scammed by these people and I have found the bank that they are using and I am in contact with this bank to try an do somthing about this. There using BB&T online bank and ATM machines.

Alright all This is what I have…..They are banking with BB&T Bank they do have a business account with this bank. I do have there account number as well for there account. I tried to get there address from the bank and they would not give it to me. They said that it would have to be done thru legal channels to get this information. They do have a physical address in Charlotte NC. According to the bank. They also have a different phone number thru the bank but they wouldnt give it to me. I will be forwarding this information to the ic3.gov website and I have found another person who has the money to go after these people I am asking that all of the people that have been defrauded by this company or http://www.thecomputercityinc.com or the superdealco.com web sites to send me any infromation they have and the amounts they have been taken for to my email address and I will compile a lawsuit aginst these companys. I will also be speaking to an attorny to try and sophenia the information about them from the bank. I ordered my two kids mp4 players for a christmas gift 2007. I recived the players cod. My kids opened them they don’t work they are froze and won’t come on. Two other people I told about the mp4players and the great deal they could get them at also ordered some, one of the two they ordered didn’t work. I called and the voice mail was always full. I left messages never got a call back. I emailed got a response from Karina to send back to 4801 E. Independence Suitw1000 Charlotte NC 28212 Dealsdirectinc. I sent them back demanding a fuull refund for the very poor products I recieved. I have not heard angthing I emailed the tracking # like she told me to and nothing. I placed the order originally off a website called superdealsco. Never order anything from these guys. Go pay the extra money at a store in your area.I am willing to have these guys shut down also.

I am really shocked to read all this stuff. I bought a 16 Gb flash drive…then after I bought it and it shipped, they posted some of those 16 GB Jogr’s that I totally love, and have wanted forever since I first saw them. They had them for $35, with free shipping, and I paid $32 for a Lenovo, with about $6 shipping….I wrote them, and they said they would be happy to exchange if I paid the shipping. I paid she shiping, sent the other one back, and got my dream Jogr in the mail today. I was so happy, I wanted to go to the eBay site and leave some great feedback, only to find it closed. I came on the web to locate an email address, and found all this…I am really shocked! They treated me really great. Maybe they turned over a new leaf in the end? I don’t know…but this doesn’t sound like the people I dealt with at all.

They only accept bank wires. We received the goods today and discovered that they are not Sony and not even 8GB. When I contacted them via their “live chat” link, they openly admitted that ALL their products are fake. They also said that they would give me a full refund, apart from shipping. However, when I pressed this point, stating that I expected the $95 back for shipping, they closed down the session and now the link is inactive!! I’m sure that if I do send them back, we haven’t a hope of seeing any of our money ever again. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM.

hey guys i have been scammed by this company Directbuyltd (www.directbuyltd.com).
i am a computer tech from Caribbean (St Lucia) that is and decided to buy a few flash drives to sell for Christmas on a lil promo. i have purchased 25 flash drives (16gb) from those guys and in return they all are 249mb in size. as soon as i got them i tested it out, i used a pen drive tester and the actual size is 249mb.

It is such a disappointment that since last three weeks I have reported on these guys to both FBI and FTC and nobody is taking action.

Better idea.? The FBI/FTC/government entities usually have a lot of bureaucratic hoops to jump through before they can do anything, not to mention budget and time constraints and legal issues. I suggest that for every product they offer we should notify the legitimate producers to this sites activities.

Forget about it all…neiteh FBI, nor IC3 not FTC will be able to do anything because as one FBI the NC Police told me… thise gyuys have taken care of everything and noone is able to catch them. I believe they bought all these law enforcements there. May be there are many Blagoevich type guys in NC too!!! I have contacted Kingston and they did nothing, they never called back. It so disappointing

I ordered 120 32GB Kingston USB memory drives from http://www.buydirectoutlet.com/. I had researched the site and the product and came somewhat blank on negative results. Then realised they would not accept my Visa card. I opted for the wire transfer option, and the company name, Deal Direct Inc was different than from the website, and their bank account located in the US, rather than in China. This made me even more suspicious.
I googled Deal Direct Inc and found this page. I am sorry for everybody’s loss, but would liek to thank you for saving me considerable issues.
Now to sort out reimbursing all the people who came on with me for the order!

I managed to order some staff from them and make them send it all the way to a fictitious address.. The package arrived and refused so it was returned to them.
Why do not everybody in this site keep them busy by doping so and ask all your friends to do similar things so that they start Doubting if every or every other Order is real or NOT…
In the worst scenario we buy some time and allow FEDEX to make some more money.

Leawood man who sold counterfeit Cisco equipment gets 33 months
A Leawood man was sentenced today to 33 months in federal prison for selling $1 million worth of counterfeit Cisco computer equipment.
Christopher Myers, 42, pleaded guilty previously to conspiring to bring goods into the U.S. by false statements, to smuggle goods into the U.S. and to traffic in counterfeit goods.
U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a release that Myers said he worked with co-defendant Timothy Weatherly of Overland Park, who is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 3.
The men ran Deals Direct, Inc., in Merriam, officials said. In 2005 and 2006 they imported equipment from China and put fake Cisco labels on it. They marketed the products as authentic and sold them on their website and on eBay, Grissom said.
